Local image pipeline
Text-to-image and edits on the Mac, from one command.
What it is
This set up image generation and editing on the Mac with ComfyUI and Qwen-Image 2.1, so images could be made without a hosted service. A shell command wrapped the ComfyUI workflows, and a runbook recorded setup steps and the problems hit along the way.
What it means for your team
Local image generation is practical on a well-equipped Mac for drafts and internal use, and the runbook matters as much as the setup.
Status
Not usable today: the model weights were removed to free space in early October 2026. A check on 2026-10-08 found everything else intact, and the ComfyUI server starts, but about 17 to 25 GB of weights must be downloaded again before it can render. Test images were never used publicly.
Workflows
ComfyUI workflow files for text-to-image and for editing an existing image.
One command
A shell wrapper takes a prompt and options and returns a finished image.
Runbook
Setup steps, model locations and an incident write-up, so the setup can be rebuilt.
