NameIO
Measures how often AI assistants recommend a brand.
What it is
NameIO measures how visible an ecommerce brand is inside AI assistants. A full scan asks 20 buying-intent prompts on each of Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, and scores each answer from 0 to 100 on five factors, such as position and recommendation strength. Prompts where no assistant mentions the brand go on a gap list with draft FAQ, blog, schema and llms.txt content. The live site also has industry pages, a quick free audit and a tool endpoint other AI assistants can call.
By the numbers
What it means for your team
The same pattern fits any recurring check a small team cares about: a fixed set of questions, a written scoring rule, and a model used only for the judgment step. The tool endpoint shows how a business tool can be called from a client's own AI assistant.
Status
The dashboard shell is a fork of the open-source Loop scaffold; the scan runner, scoring, prompt library and landing pages are Nix Inc's work. Only five full scans have run, all internal tests, and the hosted quick audit asks one hosted model rather than all four. The full scanner runs on one Mac, and its browser automation of consumer chat sites has not been checked against their terms.
Intake
A three-step form saves the brand, its category and its competitors, and marks the brand as waiting for a scan.
Scheduled scan
Every 15 minutes a scan runner checks the queue. For each brand it builds 20 prompts in five groups: discovery, buying intent, problem-aware, comparison and trust.
Asking the assistants
Claude answers through the Claude Code CLI on a subscription. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini are asked in headless browsers with no saved login, so the scan records what a logged-out visitor would see.
Scoring
Each answer is scored from 0 to 100: position 30, mention density 20, recommendation strength 25, competitor crowding 15 and depth 10. One batched Claude call rates the sentiment of all 80 answers, with a keyword check as the fallback.
Distribution
A release on 2026-04-06 added the industry landing pages, a five-prompt quick audit, shareable result pages and a tool endpoint with three tools: scan_brand, check_visibility and get_recommendations.
